Well I have decided to go veg for the second time. This time im hoping I will stick with it lol. The undoing of my plan the first time was that I was trying the vegan lifestyle out and I realized I cannot survive without cheese. I remember that day like it was yesterday… a very hungry me at the salad bar and 3 pounds of shredded cheese looking me in the face. Since I made that tiny exception for cheese I suppose I let meat slip into my diet and here we are 8 years later and a meat eater. But not for long, iv made quite an effort to eat veg. Its reeking havoc on my digestive system but im sure that will come to pass. Iv made some interesting dishes so far and cant wait to add more to my repertoire.

Alpacas make me sneeze…

So I got to hang out with a friend of mine and we went to Baltimore to this awesome yarn store. I saw so many awesome skein  I wanted to buy but was looking for one in particular. I want to make a alpaca scarf for my boyfriends mother for Christmas, I have a perfect vision in my head and was sure I would find alpaca yarn at a specialty yarn store. Well I did and it was so beautiful until I realized that it made me sneeze hardcore. Alpaca is my kryptonite I suppose. I really want to make this scarf for her because she can buy anything she wants but a handmade gift from my heart may mean more to her. It would mean allot to me if someone took the time to make me something especially if they are allergic to the material its made of lol. So I have decided to get a face mask and work that way, its kinda crazy but it just may work.

Before I knew of the kryptonite I call alpaca I agreed to helping my friends mom in her plan to buy two alpacas and spin alpaca yarn. I suppose that plan is down the drain. Alpacas are cute, I was looking forward to interacting with such soft creatures even though some look taller than me lol. O well.

Summer simmer time…

Simmering in my own juices for 10 something an hour. Doesn’t get any better than that people lol. Other than the ridiculous tan i have gotten there have been some fun times. Would i do it again? I plead the 5th my friends. So how are you world? Hot enough for you? It is for me. Im not  a hot weather person, fall is my favorite season and boy am i missing it now lol.

Some of you may be asking yourself… where is the Baltimore alternative music scene gone? The answer is simple… the music scene you refer to aka The Courtesy Line resides in a recording hibernation located in my basement. They have been stocking up on beer and junk food and recording such hits as “Let it Rain” and “Make it Up” strategically planned and ready for your listening pleasure in the fall of this year. Prepair yourself for this masterpiece of magnificence that is so awe inspiring that the title will send chills down your spine and warm your very being. You may be saying now wait a minute, their first album was the shit, literally mind blowing (1 out of every 10 listeners reported such side effects), the end all to end all,  so how the hell is this second album so magnificent? Ill tell you how… beer. The nectar of the gods combined with 5 devilishly handsome creative men equals one CRISP sounding album. So how do you get this skillfully crafted album? Check The Courtesy Lines Myspace page for new news and upcoming shows www.myspace.com/TheCourtesyLine

So now that iv done my good deed for the day…. My relatives are in Hong Kong… how cool is that. The lucky pair got to move there. Im absolutely jealous. What a dream. Whens the last time you were in Hong Kong? For me, never lol. New China is absolutely booming with kick ass architecture. The new China Central Television Headquarters is beautiful and is set to be done before the 2008 Beijing Olympics which is being held in another absolutely gorgeous and gargantuan stadium called the National Stadium. If it weren’t hella expensive to travel to china i would have been there years ago. Hopefully i will get to go soon. Anyway, im off to do choirs before going back to work tomorrow.

in a jam, clam….

So all is well here. Still knitting and such. Had an interesting weekend… it was surprisingly like pride weekend all over lol. Fireworks, alcohol, and love in the air. Im sure its what our forefathers had in mind lol. Anyway we had Mexican got drunk went swimming… ate some more lol. It was a great weekend and too short.

So im back to the grind sorta, I was off work today.  Gave me a chance to take care of some stuff that never gets done like cooking a whole chicken and getting my motorcycle permit. Anytime you cook a whole chicken its an eventful day. I feel accomplished for now lol.

Anyway, besides the fact that im listening to the B52’s the in a jam, clam reference has to do with my life. Im in unfavorable conditions at my job. Iv come to the conclusion that unprofessional people piss me off and I don’t work well without some kind of structure. I know its a laid back kind of job but people are lettin it all hang out. In their defense,  this is the first time iv been one of the oldest people at any job iv had. Maybe i cant handle pissants, what does that say about me? Im not great management material but im thinking i could do a better job, i don’t want to sound cocky but if people only knew what goes on. Of corse my only solace is with the older people there and from what i hear “this is just the way it is” so i don’t think ill be signing myself up for another year anytime soon. The things  i do for my friends… btw thats why im in this “clam” in the first place.

There is however, a light at the end of this hellish tunnel. I have heard through the grapevine that i will be getting a call back from a job i applied to. This job has nothing to do with my degree but its stable and not like the 4 part time jobs i was working. So whoever reads this, cross your fingers… i really want this job. I was told reimbursement for tuition is involved and seeing as my college fund was gone before i was 10 probably it would be a great help. But enough about my depressing life… the laundry and dishes must be done. adios.

There needs to be more people like this…

Hey all. Its been pretty uneventful lately. Summer camp will be starting this Monday and we get to go to the zoo next week! Score! Anyway i have been hanging out with friends and working on a million projects including my knitting. Im working on finding a job so anyone out there that pays well with benefits that needs an admin assistant im out here lol. We had a visit from my boyfriends sister and her pup frankie. Rainah plays pretty well with her and i think she misses having someone to play with all the time. We had two other dogs living with us which were her playmates and have moved so I fell like she needs a playmate but its hard finding a chill dog like her.  I saw two super cute itallian greyhounds today, they looked about the perfect size, not too big that Rainah would be intimidated. Anyway, im posting an update on the knitting project. I almost have a quarter of a sock done lol.

a knitting adventure…

So lately iv had my hands full literally with knitting. A friend of mine taught me how to knit. Bless her soul, im not the fastest learner but shes and awesome teacher as well as an awesome lady. Her and a friend of ours know how to knit so we joked about getting a knitting circle together. Well all of our boyfriends are friends and even business partners so it works out well. Yarn beer and good friends, what more cold a girl ask for.

Anyway, i knitted my first dish cloth and two coasters and am still working on a very holy scarf lol. I decided that before i break out into making my boyfriend a lovely sweater collection i should start small. BUT… small doesn’t mean easy. My small project from hell are a pair of socks. Im surprised i even got it going but i think for a beginner knitter im doing a decent job. Ill post updates on my sock progress in the future. Adios!

Gummi Bears are my one vice… I swear…

So, hows it goin world? Its been a pretty slow day around the old GB. So I ate a whole bag of gummi bears. More brain dead zombies to deal with. A sea of sorrow I tell you. One person trying out out do/out bitch another. I must say im quite sick of it. Makes me want to go to school full time just so im around people who actually want to better themselves and excel past this scum pit of a town. So here in-lies my dilemma… go on a real vacation for the first time in my adult life (mind you this vacation spot is going to be somewhat expensive) or… save up the mad money im going to be making this summer while working like a dog and go to school full time in the fall. You know, it wouldn’t be bad to have my parents pay for some of this like some privileged people I have met at college. But this is not my case, im going to have to starve through college or live decently and finish when im 80. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Times are rough these days but I do have a week or so this summer with nothing to do to look forward to. All I have on the agenda so far is to sleep. 10hr days and school is kicking my ass. There may be some light at the end of the career tunnel though. A coworker of mine clued me into a wonderful position that is open within the company I work for. Of course I jumped at it and applied the moment she told me. Working one full time job would be awesome, im starting to ware myself out at 22 which cant be good. What if I have kids? Ill have grey hair at 30 at the rate im going. Which brings me back to the summer dilemma…. go on vacation or not? Remember when summer was just whatever? There were no plans it was just straight up freedom. At least for me it was. I would wake up whenever I pleased, grab breakfast and park it in front of the tv for  an hours worth of cartoons. Hop on my bike and ride down the street to my best friends house. We would ride around the neighborhood thinking we were the coolest kids on two wheels. Visit a few people and head to the community beach. Be in before dark and you were in good shape. Where the hell did that go? You youngsters out there hold on to your youth for dear life, im telling you… this adult life sucks at times. So whatever I do this summer ill be sure to take my time and enjoy what time I have. Ah C’est la vie.

Just thougt this was noteworthy…

It seems like here monday morning is and then the next day is friday then friday skips to sunday and its monday once again. Its almost time for summer activities and i cant help but think that its not going to be a bit restful. Sundays will be a bit different but other than that its still school and 10hr days. I cant wait until im finished with school so i can finally breathe… but in education your really never done learning.

well heres the update. Im still working my ass off and going to school. Im setting up our memorial day party and trying not to make it a stressful situation. Other than that not much has been going on. I finished a book called Look Me in the Eye by John Elder Robinson which is totally awesome. He is Augusten Burroughs big brother and a very interesting man. Augusten’s book A Wolf at the Table finally arrived at my doorstep at the end of April and iv slowly gotten into it. I picked up another book called Talking in Pictures by Temple Grandin which im also reading at the moment along with spurts of A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. I plan to have them all done by the end of the summer… hopefully.

anyway i gotta get to work.
